Multi-Table Upload

The Multi Table card is for cases where your data spans more than one table — a multi-sheet Excel workbook, or multiple CSV/TXT/Excel files that should be loaded together.

Supported formats

  • CSV (.csv)
  • Text (.txt)
  • Excel (.xls, .xlsx)

Requirements

Section titled “Requirements”
  • At least 2 tables are required (sheets across files, or separate files).
  • Each file must be 50 MB or smaller.

Upload flow

Section titled “Upload flow”
  1. Click Data in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add New Data Source.
  3. Click the Multi Table card.
  4. Upload your file(s).
  5. Run a sanity check to confirm the data is in good shape.
  6. DataXpert proposes relationships between your tables.
  7. Review and confirm the detected relationships.
  8. Save to create the datastore.

Relationship detection

Section titled “Relationship detection”

DataXpert figures out how your tables fit together so you can ask questions that span more than one of them. Review the suggested relationships before saving — you can adjust them if anything looks off.

After upload

Section titled “After upload”

The multi-table datastore behaves like any other source — ask questions about it in chat, build dashboards across tables, and edit the data dictionary for each table.
