Projects
Projects (folders) help you group related chats and keep their context together.
Creating a project
Section titled “Creating a project”- In the sidebar, scroll to the Projects section.
- Click New project.
- In the Create Project dialog, set:
- Project name
- Color and icon
- Description (optional)
- Knowledge files (optional) — background documents DataXpert reads alongside chats in this project.
- Save.
The project appears under Projects in the sidebar.
Knowledge files
Section titled “Knowledge files”Knowledge files give DataXpert the context it needs about your business — definitions, fiscal-period conventions, or anything else specific to how your team works. DataXpert draws on them whenever you ask a question inside the project.
You can add or remove knowledge files from the Create Project / Edit Project dialog. Each file shows its current state (ready, processing, pending, or failed).
Example: Upload a document explaining that “Q1” in your company means February–April. DataXpert will pick that up when answering date-related questions in chats inside the project.
Working in a project
Section titled “Working in a project”Open a project to see:
- A header with the project’s name, description, and knowledge files.
- The list of chats that belong to the project.
- A new-chat composer that’s already set up for this project.
You can move existing chats into or between projects from the sidebar’s chat menu.
Managing projects
Section titled “Managing projects”- Rename / Edit — update the project’s name, color, icon, description, or knowledge files.
- Delete — when you delete a project, its chats remain in your Chats list (they’re un-linked from the project).
